William “Bill” Toney (Avery Dennison) has joined the RAIN Alliance Board of Directors, taking the place of Pierre Muller (EM Microelectronic) who steps down after three years of service.
Bill is the VP/GM, Intelligent Labels Growth at Avery Dennison and brings almost 30 years of experience in expanding the reach and practical implementation of digital identification technologies. His primary expertise is in accelerating intelligent label adoption in markets including food safety, retail and apparel, while he also has significant experience in measuring the business impact that RFID and digital products have on digital transformation.
He takes the place of Pierre Muller, who has served the Board with distinction since 2023. During his time on the Board, Pierre played a critical role in advancing adoption of RAIN RFID, most notably in his efforts evangelizing the technology as a data carrier for the Digital Product Passport.
