The RAIN in Smartphones workgroups are focused on driving RAIN reader integration into smartphones. This integration will enable enterprises and people to engage with everyday items, in the supply chain, in stores, and in everyday life, and open the door to new use cases and revenue streams, from consumer engagement to seamless omnichannel shopping, to end-of-life recycling.

Ongoing Activities:

• Smartphone Use Cases Workgroup: This group will create a catalogue of use cases enabled by RAIN readers in smartphones and illustrate them with user stories and associated business models and revenue streams.
• Smartphone Integration Workgroup: This group will discuss the technical challenges in implementing the user stories provided (by the Use Cases Workgroup) and deliver specifications, recommendations, and guidelines (as deemed most appropriate) for smartphone integration to ensure interoperability as well as a features/use cases roadmap.
