RFID Lab stems from long lasting research activities carried out at the Department of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Parma.  Founded in 2006 by Prof. Antonio Rizzi, RFID Lab pioneered RFID UHF Class1 Gen2 applications, and became a reference research center for RFID applications both in the Italian and international scenario.

Research activities encompass different topics of RFID applications to business processes, with a particular focus on the business value of RFID.  First focused on the food and fast-moving consumer goods industries, now encompasses several market segments, including, among others, fashion and apparel retail, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, and public administrations. Applications range from operations to logistics, from supply chain management to retail.
