FEIG ELECTRONICS, a leading manufacturer of RFID read/write devices, is launching two versions of a new, high-performance UHF long-range reader, the LRU4000 and LRU4000X. This reader family was specifically developed for demanding applications in industrial and logistics environments – putting you in a completely different league!

The devices are particularly characterized by robust mechanics and a durable electronic design. This ensures a long service life and availability of the device. Lifecycle costs are close to zero, simply 100% quality – Made in Germany. The LRU4000 features cable glands for quick connection of the connecting cables. This simultaneously seals the housing and provides strain relief. This makes it suitable for use in a wide variety of applications. The LRU4000X impresses with its M12 circular connectors, making it ideal for use in industrial environments or on all types of vehicles.

The devices each have four robust R-TNC connectors for connecting external antennas. The number of available antenna connections can be expanded using external multiplexers. This allows even complex applications, such as intelligent shelving, to be implemented cost-effectively.

Both device variants have been tested in accordance with the applicable standards for use on rail vehicles (EN50155). They can withstand extreme environmental influences such as strong vibrations or temperature fluctuations.

  • Maximum reading range for efficient processes.
The ID LRU4000 is a stationary long-range reader that reliably detects UHF transponders over distances of more than 10 meters.
Its high reception sensitivity combined with high interference immunity ensures precise data capture – even with fast-moving objects or multiple objects being scanned simultaneously. This reduces error rates, optimizes logistics processes, and increases supply chain transparency.
  • Flexibility and easy integration:
With four antenna connections, a 2-watt output, and a wide range of mounting options, the ID LRU4000 adapts flexibly to any application. Whether on conveyor belts, truck access points, or industrial facilities – the device can be mounted directly on surfaces or DIN rails, chassis, or VESA mounts. With PoE support, the LRU4000 also offers an additional power supply option.
  • Plug & Play – Quickly ready for use.
With Ethernet (IPv4/IPv6), USB, and RS485, the ID LRU4000 can be easily integrated into existing IT infrastructures. The intuitive web interface enables simple configuration, while features like “Config Cloning” significantly simplify the setup of multiple devices.
  • Robust for indoor and outdoor use.
Thanks to its IP65/IP67 protection rating, the LRU4000 withstands harsh industrial conditions, dust, humidity, and temperature fluctuations from -40°C to +70°C. Integrated diagnostic functions protect the device from overheating, short circuits, and antenna mismatches. This ensures maximum operational reliability with minimal maintenance.
  • Smart control and secure data processing
The newly integrated edge computing platform with a Linux operating system enables the installation and operation of individual and customer-specific software solutions directly on the device. This allows for the implementation of custom applications, local data processing, and reduced network load. The system also supports the secure storage of application keys.
  • Quality and reliability “Made in Germany.”
With the ID LRU4000, FEIG is expanding its portfolio with a powerful and versatile RFID long-range reader that meets the demanding requirements of modern industrial and logistics applications. Manufactured in Germany, it ensures the highest levels of quality and availability. Further information about the device can be found here: LRU4000 product page
