Brady, which makes labelling and identification products, has developed a lightweight, heavy-duty RFID label for the aerospace industry that enables fast and easy tracking of non-metal components.
The RFID Air Label features a read range of up to 8m (26ft) and can help aircraft manufacturers and airline maintenance divisions keep track of such information as the number of life vests present, or whether any oxygen masks need to be replaced.
A mounted or handheld scanner picks up the birth records of every labelled item and tells operators how many items are present and where they are located, “keeping you compliant with a number of EASA [European Aviation Safety Agency] requirements”, the company says.
