Help Shape the Future of RAIN Technology
The RAIN ecosystem is entering one of the most exciting moments in its history, a surge of growth and innovation that is reshaping how products, businesses, and consumers interact with the items around them. RAIN-enabled smartphones are hitting the market. Digital Product Passport legislation is advancing across Europe, with similar requirements emerging globally. Major brands and retailers are expanding deployments from pilots to enterprise systems. And the RAIN Alliance is a central force – driving global standards, shaping regulatory conversations, and helping lead the initiatives that will define the next decade.
This momentum creates both opportunity and responsibility. The Board of Directors plays a crucial role in governing the RAIN Alliance—setting organizational priorities and strategy. At this moment, what each board member brings matters more than ever: the influence to open doors, the strategic judgment to set direction, and the commitment to drive the industry forward.
In order to rebalance the Board of Directors to better reflect the membership profile of the Alliance, the Board has decided to increase the number of Board seats in the 2026 election. As a result, we are accepting nominations for five seats on the Board of Directors, to be elected by members in Q1 2026. Each term will run through March 2028. (The deadline for Nominations is 11:59 PM EST, January 30, 2026)
Board Structure Updates for 2026
Beginning in 2026, the RAIN Alliance Board of Directors will expand from seven to nine members. As part of this growth, a minimum of two seats will be allocated to individuals who represent Systems Integrators or End Users (as defined below).
When submitting a nomination—either for yourself or someone else—please indicate explicitly if the nominee is employed by either a Systems Integrator or End User Member of the Alliance. This information ensures the Nominating Committee can properly account for these designated seats.
Systems Integrator Member
The designation “Systems Integrator” applies to any Member (within any Member class) whose organization predominantly designs, deploys, and/or manages complete RAIN technology solutions, including—but not limited to—enterprise integration, software, and analytics, for customers who would themselves qualify as End Users if they were Members of the RAIN Alliance.
End User Member
The designation “End User” applies to any Member (within any Member class) whose organization primarily uses RAIN technology or RAIN-related consulting services in their business operations.
In the event of any disagreement or ambiguity regarding a Member’s designation, the Board of Directors will have final decision-making authority.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking individuals whose experience, credibility, and leadership can help guide the RAIN Alliance.
The ideal candidate:
- Has led meaningful adoption of emerging technologies and understands what it takes to advance an industry at scale.
- Brings strong industry credibility and can clearly communicate the business value of RAIN technology to senior executives and decision-makers.
- Has the seniority, resources, and industry relationships to actively advance RAIN Alliance initiatives and champion RAIN technology adoption across their partner and customer networks.
- Offers relevant governance or board experience and the commitment to prepare thoroughly and follow through on responsibilities.
- Demonstrates visible passion, energy, and a growth mindset, with the drive to help shape the next decade of RAIN technology.
The Board meets monthly with at least 1 in-person meeting per year, typically held in conjunction with RAIN Alliance events. Board members are also expected to participate in Board Committees which meet more frequently. For all Board and Committee activity members must participate fully, prepare thoughtfully, and follow through on commitments between meetings.
How to Nominate
Who Can Nominate: Any Collaborator Member in good standing (self-nominations welcome).
Eligibility: Nominees must be employed by a RAIN Alliance Collaborator Member in good standing.
Deadline: January 30, 2026, at 11:59 PM EST

- Completed nomination application
- Current resume highlighting relevant professional and industry experience
- Professional headshot
Qualified candidates will also be asked to record a short video introduction for members ahead of voting and to participate on a “Meet the Nominees Webinar” to be held February 4, 2026.
Election Process
The Nominating Committee will verify eligibility and confirm each nominee’s willingness to serve. Candidate materials will be distributed to the full RAIN Alliance membership. Only the primary contact of each Collaborator Member is eligible to vote on behalf of that Member.
If, among the top vote recipients, there are at least two candidates who are designated as an End User or Systems Integrator, then all the top vote recipients shall be seated.
If, among the top vote recipients, there are fewer than two candidates who are designated as an End User or Systems Integrator, then the next-to-last and/or last (as applicable) open Director seats shall be filled by the End User or Systems Integrator candidate(s) with the highest number of votes, such that two seats are filled by End User or Systems Integrator candidates.
